RMS 64 Posted March 31, 2012 I started my pre-op diet today so far not to bad but, it is day 1. I meet a lady last night at Olive Garden and she said WLS was the best thing she ever did. It made me feel good about my decision. And this website has been the best thing I have ever found on the internet.

Mysurgery is on 4/23 and I think I would be so lost and scared without it. Everyone here has been so kind and wonderful too. Good luck on the preop diet. linkybo 27 Posted March 31, 2012 I wonder if they will give us a little "something-something" (Valium!) before surgery. At my NUT visit, I started having a little mini panic attack when she was talking about how much our eating was going to have to change. I don't want to totally freak out and run down the hallway in my hospital gown!

Well linkybo - if you're going to run down the hall in your hospital gown, don't forget to wear under panties!!! lol... 1 THYCK747 reacted to this

It's that simple...
CamarilloCA 41 Posted April 1, 2012 I don't think of the surgery as making me give up my favorite foods. I think that I will eat less of those foods instead of mass quantities, and I think that my favorite foods will change. In all of the video blogs that I've been watching on You Tube, which are great in case you haven't seen them, the sleevers all said that they just want different foods, healthier foods, after the surgery but that they can eat anything that they want but what they want has changed. When you get to maintenance, I think you can eat anything in small amounts. You'll be free to make better choices, however, without that grehlin telling you what to eat and how much to eat. 1 THYCK747 reacted to this
joycelyn 19 Posted April 1, 2012 Ok so tomorrow at 1pm central time i begin my new way of life. I am mental ready. Doesn't mean I'm not a little scared but I feel like this is going to be a good change for me. I love to eat but I love to eat the wrong foods and too much of them. So this will keep me on the right track. I used to be able to find my way around any diet, or weight loss pill. Can't do it with this. I feel good in this decision. I now know I have the will power to achieve this goal. I just wish I would have done it sooner.
Joni 94 Posted April 1, 2012 Good luck Joycelyn! Like you, I wish I had done this sooner too but glad it's finally here now. I'm behind you (4/23) and wishing you well.
Carly 56 Posted April 1, 2012 Hi guys- sorry to double post, but I am out of sugery and doing pretty well. They did give me something to relax me before sugery and later another dose that knocked me out. Don't remember a thing. Best wishes to all. 1 destined_dva reacted to this
