fannyf 24 Posted June 7, 2012 chicken doesn't do well, very heavy. I can only tolerate baked salmon, tilapia and I'm trying flounder tomorrow. I can tolerate Tyson's grilled chicken breast fillet only if I eat it very, very slow and cut it up in tiny bits. I tried eating a baked wing today, but it made me feel too heavy. Ground beef doesn't do very well. So, I'm sticking with baked fish. 1 vsg30815 reacted to this
WillowsKnot 71 Posted June 7, 2012 Fanny, I can tolerate chicken as long as it is dark meat (more moist). I can also do ground turkey. I have not tried pork yet and beef is way too hard on my sleeve. I do ok with tuna and salmon as well. My "menu" has become very borning, but when I try other things, they just don't sit well and then I don't want to eat at all. I find myself sticking to what I know will be ok. I did mashed potatos the 2nd and 3rd week after surgery and they were fine. Now, I can't stand them and they don't sit well at all. Cottage cheese, cream cheese and Mexican queso fresco all sit well. Yogurt, yuck. I used to love it, but now, it makes me feel yucky. Funny and interesting how much our tastes change with having the sleeve.

I can't stand lean ground beef though, because of the smell. I grosses me out
Joni 94 Posted June 7, 2012 Fanny - try putting boneless, skinless chicken in a crockpot with gravy or Soup, or other kind of sauce you like and cook it til it is falling apart. The moistness from the liquid will make all the difference I bet.

joycelyn 19 Posted June 10, 2012 Just got back back from Mexico, wow so much fun. Eating was a challange, I didn't gain anything but I ate whatever I wanted, only a bite or two and I was full. It was fun buying clothes there and actually having them fit. I love my new life.

ThisTimeIsIt 71 Posted June 14, 2012 Hi everyone. Can you believe it's been 2 months? Down 45#s as of today. Still only able to eat about 2 ounces per sitting. Need some suggestions for meals. What do you all eat on any given day? Thank you!
Joni 94 Posted June 14, 2012 if you haven't, you should sign up at fitness pal. there is a list on this forum with names of those who will be friends with you and you can also send out friend requests. Then you can look at their food diaries and see what they are eating every day. I really love it and get a lot of ideas for menus there. Plus you can log your own food to keep track. hellonurse 76 Posted June 14, 2012 Hi April Sleevers!! April 24th here! I'm doing well, lost 43 pounds so far. I have upped my calories to 800, although I haven't actually ate quite that much! Almost made it there yesterday Since working out so much, I feel a bit run down, so I tried the teeny bit of carbs and more Protein and fluids, it really does work!! I was eating around 500-600 calories daily and it was ok, but keeping it between 600-800 seems to be just right for me. I make smart choices and do not feel deprived at all, Im just loving the whole eating food again thing!! If anyone would like to add me as a friend on Myfitnesspal, Im ChargersForever!!
