Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I have been stalled about 10 days...everytime I get on the scale' date=' it is exactly the same...no matter how much Water I drank, how little food, how much food...it is really starting to get on my nerves...I feel like I should be down another ten pounds...I keep thinking, I hope this is not it...what am I doing wrong? I start a good exercise program tomorrow...Tuesday is my 6-week post-op day...I would like to show a loss...that means it will be almost two weeks at the same weight.[/quote']

Keep at it! You are doing great! It's a race for distance! I go for my 6 week spot Wednesday. Keep me posted.

Today had a nsv! I wore a shirt that I bought four years ago that never fit. In fact I wore it as a jacket! I wore it today and could button it up and it wad even loose! That shirt alone was worth the surgery!

It could be your gallbladder. Add a little olive oil to something you are eating...I saw where some sleevers actually took medication to keep it from messing up their gallbladders. I have eaten a little too much before and it hurt my left side for a day or two, had to go back to soft foods until it calmed down.

So today was my 1 month post - op. I was a little nervous. I know that I have all of your support here; but every doctor is different and I wasn't sure if I was doing how they wanted me to do it.

Officially, I am 33.4 pounds lost since surgery. Great! one thing to Celebrate. I was told that I am taking this as I should and getting in everything that I needed. The NUT told me that she wants me to work up to 2000 calories burned in a week for exercise and I should be about 800 - 850 calories a day. They asked me to split my meals up so that I am not eating so many ounces in one sitting. I will have to start planning a little better. She was a great help in showing me how to make sure that I am getting more for the buck when it came to Protein so I am not wasting the calories. All and all it was a great day.

To reward my weight loss I went and had a manicure and eyebrow wax. I have to look great for when I go back to work on Tuesday. Tomorrow I should burn some more calories. I am off to Disneyland with my son. A little fun to treat and test myself. I will let everyone know how my meal planning went

I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day Weekend.

I haven't checked in with you guys lately! But I just added a bunch of you as friends on mfp. My surgery was April 27 and I've lost 37 pounds with my preop diet. I'm really feeling a difference and can definitely tell a big difference in my face. What did you guys eat at 4 weeks? Tomorrow I get to start eating more "normal" food (just soft) and I'm nervous!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
