I'm four days out and my chest feels tight..........and all I had was a milk shake and i'm full as a tick on a blood hound. Is it supposed to feel that way??????

It's like I can feel it inside of me. My cuts itch itch itch and I'm just feeling like I'll never be able to eat again, I even cooked jambalaya, mexican Soup and cornbread, homemade vegetable Soup for my son and baked chicken...all for my husband and I don't even want it. Turned off and have been going to the scale everyday and bored with recovery and got real tired at Walmart and came home to lay down.

Hey,

For 4 days post-op, I think you're doing pretty good. You're cooking for your family, goin' shopping, and not hungry to boot.

I hope I do as well, I'm going in this Friday and oh so excited about taking this trip. I hope your recovery goes well, and you're on top of your game in no time.

Sounds like you're healing up nicely! A milkshake is actually pretty thick stuff for four days out, so it's not surprising you felt superfull. I'm sure you still have some swelling, evidenced by the fact that you have no appetite.

Please be careful to listen to your body's cues, and don't try to eat or drink any more than you are absolutely comfortable with. Ideally you'll stick to liquids for another week or so and stay away from really thick things for at least several more days. You have a lot of healing to do, so it's not at all surprising you're tired.

Take care, you're on your way! :D

What Alex said. Especially the part about a milk shake being pretty thick for four days out. If you are bored at four days post-op, there's a pretty good chance you could get REALLY antsy waiting for your first fill. Read around all the old posts to get an idea of what this month (or two) is all about.

Hey Woman!! You are doing good!!! I was not hungry for about a week after the surgery. My dr. told me I could have whatever I could get through a straw for the first week. I don't think that a milkshake, made really thin, would hurt you. It didn't bother me and my dr. told me to have as many as I want. And, I did!! Take care and I will holler at you later.

Recovery can be a frustrating time. But not feeling hungry and only being able to drink has it's advantages. I think I lost more than 3 pounds a week that first month. And it's normal for you to be tired. Your body has taken a big hit what with the surgery and anesthesia, so take it easy when you can. I know it's hard, but try to be patient. It's all worth it in the end. Hang in there.
