momofone 0 Posted March 19, 2012 I'm seeing that every surgeon is different in what they require or what the insurance requires. List what you had to do and any notes... 1. Psych exam- I had to go twice because i did have an eating disorder when I was younger. 2. Upper GI- I have yet to get this, but hear its nothing. 3. Doppler study- this is when they run the ultrasound machine over my legs to check for clots. 4. Chest xray- takes two seconds! 5. Lab work- easy stuff. 6. Cardiologist- he found a small murmur, but said i'm OK for surgery. 7. Pulmonologist- my apt is this week. 8. Fit test- this was really neat and I think everyone should do it. It measures your bmi, body fat, Water weight, etc. apparently i have great muscle mass. and they give you your ideal target heart rate. 9. Attend at least one support meeting. So far I've attended two. it's great to meet people who are going through the same thing!
