Almost Passed Out!

Ok, I'm posting this as fair warning. If you're not hungry...eat anyways. Eat something. Here's what happened to me. On Friday I had my usual shake for Breakfast. I had a busy day filled with funtastic things to do. Well, now that my body doesnt get hungry, I totally forgot to eat. Saturday morning I woke up & felt a little off, but went on with my morning routine. As the minutes clicked by I realized that everything was going dark & I was shaking really bad. I literally could not stand on my own & felt like I was going to fall. I crawled over to the sink, made my shake then Sat down on the floor & drank it. It was only a matter of minutes before I had my wits about me, but I was home alone & it was super scary. Just wanted to share this so that if your having one of those, "I'm too busy to eat days" you'll eat anyway. Anyone else has this happen?

In the beginning I too hard to remind myself that it was noon and that I had to eat. I lost all hunger sensation from my stomach......now if the head hunger would just go away also that would be even better. You have to have something to eat at meal times even if you have just a shake. You body will shut down as it will think that you are starving. Also it is important to get in your fluids so keep on drinking even if you are not able to sit and eat a meal. You were either dehydrated or possibly suffering from low blood sugar. Each can affect you differently and could have been a combination of both. Glad that you did not pass out, fall and injure yourself.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
