I was getting sick to the stomach every time I drank Protein Drinks or any other drink (gatorade G2), besides Water. Prior to surgery I could not consume a lot of fake sugar, the fake sugar is making me nauseated. Aspartame, slpenda, are not workin with me. I know that there are new healthy sugars out there, but does anyone know what is the best and in a Protein Drink? Even the Protein drinks with low carb have some type of fake sugar. I will drink water until I can find something that is low carb without aspartame, splenda or anything similiar. Gotta find something quick, don't want to drink high carb drinks and protein drinks. Water is fine.

Much to my NUT's surprise, I have been able to get all of my Protein needs from real food. I was sleeved 2/13/12 and at the end of the 2nd week I could no longer tolerate ANY of the sickeningly sweet Protein supplements. I tried the chicken Soup one too but that was just disgusting. So I started eating mushy foods a couple of weeks early - refried Beans, cheese, liverwurst, tuna salad, etc. The NUT and PA kept telling me that I was becoming "protein intolerant" and that if I didn't drink the nasty protein drinks I would develop an aversion to all protein. Well, no, I don't have an aversion to all protein, just to nasty protein supplements!

Give soft meats a try, go slow, chew well, enjoy !

That is what I am thinking, I am on my pureed stage, and I can eat refried Beans. Monday will be 3 weeks post op, I can start soft foods then, like lunch meats and flaky baked fish. The next week regular foods. Thanks so much for your response.

I can drink Premier Protein and Muscle Milk.. but no other SF drinks... I was tolerating Crystal Light early on, but not anymore...

Stevia caused me to have severe allergic reaction.. so... I understand... I hope things work out for you...

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
