Debvzw 48 Posted March 16, 2012 How long before you were able to sleep on your stomach? I'm a stomach sleeper and have been struggling to keep myself from rolling onto it at night. I'm 10 days post op.
Lissa 2,631 Posted March 16, 2012 I'm a side sleeper, but you will probably be able to sleep on your tummy within six weeks or so. It all depends on how fast your incisions heal and if your surgeon used any internal stitches.

kimmy*custis 276 Posted March 16, 2012 I am a side sleeper but I found myself waking up on my stomach the first week out of surgery, it was weird! I quit waking up that way after the second week. I would say by 4-6 weeks otherwise.
Joiebean 53 Posted March 16, 2012 I'm a stomach sleeper too, but slept in a recliner for the first two weeks so that I wouldn't roll over. Plus laying flat hurt to much. I would say that maybe 4 weeks after surgery I was able to start laying on my stomach again. It felt weird at first. I have internal stitches too. After I started sleeping in the bed in week three, it hurt to much to roll over and I'd wake up when I'd start to and go back onto my back. It got so engrained in me that now I actually sleep on my back most of the time.
Oopsseedaisy 90 Posted March 16, 2012 Let me start out by saying I was very lucky. I was able to sleep on my stomach from the first day. I had no pain at all. I could walk and sleep with no issue. I hope you can get comfortable very soon!
Swimmer 199 Posted March 16, 2012 Two weeks for me.
kayte819 95 Posted March 17, 2012 I woke up on my stomach day 3 & 4 in the hospital. Weird since I'm a side sleeper & the bed was adjusted to a halfway sitting position with feet elevated! Anyway the nurse said as long it didn't cause discomfort it was fine. I find myself on my stomach all the time now in the morning....weird!
