In 12 weeks, I've hit my first big goal of losing 50 lbs! It has been a battle of discipline, but soooo worth it. After getting bloodwork done last week, Dr. says I'm not diabetic anymore and my blood pressure is normal! Also, I have stopped snoring, so I'm not using my CPAP regularly which has made me use less Ambien :). Even with the pain, struggle, and stalls, I have to say it was ALL worth it. My journey is not over, and the next 25 lbs will be tough...but not impossible. Stay strong, stay focused, and stay positive!

I am SOOOO proud of you! I am at 50 lbs. too now and in a stall (mostly my fault, haven't been exercising). But, I am not feeling sorry for myself and am not giving up! 50 lbs. is my halfway mark and took me a lot longer to get there (5.5 months), but I WILL lose this last 50 lbs. and get to goal. I simply won't have it any other way!

way to go, I can't wait till I can say that, of course for me, 50 is only 1/3 of what I have to loose.

Congrats to you for sticking it out.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
