For those who know me you are fimiliar with my story. For anyone else a brief re cap.

My oldest son got married in Oct of 2003 and I relaized after seeing the photos and videos I was in trouble. I knew I'd never live to see my grandchildern and I finially went after a solution.

After researching I settled on the lapband and had my surgery in 2004.

Would I do it again is a question I am often asked and I answer before the question is done "YES in a heart beat" and why do I answer that.

Well look at this: Its what made it all worth it. My first granchild who was born July 27,2005 just turned one:

How precious,

That is the cutest picture and I agree, I would do it over in a minute as well. I think the band had changed so many of our lives.

Congrats on the beautiful grandbaby,

I have one granddaughter and she'll be one on Sept. 19, 2006 and she's our life.

What a cutie!!! When I decided to go for the lapband surgery, I decided it was for my son. He deserves to have a healthy, energetic mommy, and I want to be that for him. My little guy is 2 1/2.

He got into Mommy's makeup in this pic.:)

Congratulations on your grandbaby, and your decision you made to ensure you'd be there for her. I think I may not have been able to have children if I hadn't done anything about my own weight. Hopefully it wont be a problem when my fiance and I start trying.

On a side note, I think every child should have their own cake on their first birthday to do with whatever they please, lol.

How adorable, Greg! Thanks for sharing, I'm so happy for you! It WAS worth it!! Yay! Man, life is good when you have a lap full of birthday cake!

(Libra, look at those curls! I just shaved the curls off my 3yo son and I miss them! It was time, though. He's a cutie-pie!) h

OK Darcy....you asked for. These are the eyes that cut right to papa's heart.

Oh can you see where she gets her good looks from...LOL

Libra, Your son is so cute too. I love when they get into "Stuff"... But I have an advantage. I give her back to mom and dad....lol

My grandchildren were my motivation also. I want to be around for them and watch them grow up. Hailey is 3, Alex is 1. They are my angels.

Greg,

Seriously-

You have GOT to submit (with the parents' permission) your grand daughters cake picture and the one where she's wearing the scarf to PARADE Magazine. They do post cute baby pics and they used to pay pretty a decent amount if they used the photo.

Those are winners.

All the pictures on this thread are adorable - but that cake picture takes The Cake! (*smile*)

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
