Wow! Is This A Success Or What? I'm On Google Search...

Recommended Posts

I never thought... anyway I received a PM from a dear friend on Facebook this morning and she told me she was playing around on Google. She did a Search for Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy Before and After... lo and behold I'm on there. There's actually 2 of me that I found but this is the best one.

Again, I never thought I'd become famous over this!!! HAAA!!! ;)

Have a blessed Sunday everyone!!!

I have to tell you something... Last summer when I first heard about VSG surgery and was researching it, I came across this forum. Yours was the first profile and pic I came across (probably you were responding to a topic or something). I remember the moment so clearly because I called my boyfriend (now fiance) into the room and we ooh-ed and ahh-ed over your before and after picture. I was hooked and had to know everything there was to know about VSG. Now every time I see a post by you, I'm reminded of that moment. In a way, I have you to thank for inspiring me to look into this surgery. Thanks, sleeve sister! XOX

I also seen you on Facebook when I was researching and I was also like "Wow"! The transformation is Amazing!! I chose to get sleeved just hoping to get back to my sze 8's (I am now a sze18, 240 5'4"), but I have found a new goal and seeing as you made it to sze 2, I think I can make it at least a 5/6.

Thank you!!!

Little Miss Diva,

Maybe the only one surprised on this forum is you!! You are an inspiration to all of us, along with coach, cheer leader, and counselor! Glad you are getting the recognition you deserve for a job well-done.

Wow, you really take me a-back with this!! It's really true, I don't see myself like that. I just come here and share my story - and hope I can save some lives here. The sleeve IS a lifesaver!! I'll shout it from the rooftops! Thank you so much for this post, it really speaks volumes to me. :)

This is so funny, because like above I really honestly don't view myself in that light. I was really dumbfounded when I got that message this morning. I never would have gone to look otherwise... ha! Hugs girl, you're doing really great and that makes me happy! ^_^

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
