Karma84 3 Posted March 10, 2012 My doctors office recommends you taking a week off after surgery. They did tell me though that if I had a sedintary job that I could return to work in 3 days. Has anyone been able to return to work in 3 days?
docangtx12 20 Posted March 10, 2012 I was going to try to go work in 3 days and ended up calling in- although I was largely sedentary that day, no way I could have even handled a sedentary job that fast as my brain still seemed fatigued from the anesthesia. I went back to my very non sedentary job (not hard labor, but walking and bending and on my feet for 6-8 hours) on day 6 and was sore, but did OK. By day 7 I was fine. brandymarie81 108 Posted March 10, 2012 I had surgery on Monday and was back at my desk on Thursday morning. I felt great and it helped me get back to normal...well my new normal.
terrilynndrew 89 Posted March 11, 2012 I took the week of surgery off. I was sleeved on a Monday & honestly thought I'd be back at my desk job the next Monday. However, the Friday after my surgery, pain & fatigue set in and I took Monday & Tuesday off. I returned to work Wednesday feeling just fine, and my back went out Thursday & I ended up taking another week off because I was flat on my back, unable to walk without assistance. After a visit to an Orthopedic Dr, I return to work this Monday! (Yay!)

teamthin 7 Posted March 11, 2012 I'm having surgery on the 15th and I'm going back to work on the 19th. I'm a after school program teacher so I only work about 2:30-3 hours a day. But my surgeon insisted I would be ok. We shall see~
