My Smartlipo Experience, Day 2

Recommended Posts

Yesterday I had smartipo (a form of laser lipo) done to my inner/outer thighs and knees. I did extensive research on it before i had it done and read people's testimonials. people describe the pain as if you have had an intense work out. It is suppose to be so painless that it is done under local anesthesia. My plastic surgeon does it under general. Ladies and gentlemen, it HURT!! at least the first 2 days does. maybe it's because of the extent of the job i had done that make it hurt a lot. It is suppose to hurt less than regular liposuction, but i can't imagine something hurting more than that. I am not trying to scare any body, but i wish i was better prepared mentally for the pain. I can't say if i regret doing it, but i don't believe i will do it again but who knows. I will keep you guys posted on my progress.

Hi Mina! I had abdominal liposuction (smart lipo) this summer of upper and lower abs. It was before I decided to get gastric sleeve but I was so sick of looking at my tummy. They did mine under local anesthesia. I could feel a bit of the awkwardness and poking while he was doing it. I didn't hurt after surgery but I did feel really weird for a couple of weeks. That strange numbness was so awkward. I have to say that my results were really good. He took off about 6 lbs of fat and it made a big difference. I dropped about 5 inches in my waist! It made a big difference in how my pants fit and also when I looked in the mirror. I hope your results are as pleasing as you want them to be. I really think that most people are satisfied but some people say they have unslightly lumps or other problems. I have been happy with my results. Best of luck to you.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
