Just discovered a new method for "unplugging" stuck food!

Recommended Posts

Or, at least, I *think* it's new! I just can't believe I didn't think of it before!

Lots of TMI ahead, so beware:

So I had a fill on Wednesday afternoon to about 2.25 cc (I had been unfilled to 1 cc for vacation on my request).

48 hours of liquids, and this afternoon I was ready to switch to mushies. I thought that very thin black bean Soup would be just right.

Yeah, well... I was wrong.

So an hour and a half after I ate 3 spoonfulls, I'm sliming and all the other wonderful stuff that comes with being "plugged up". I haven't PBd in over a month b/c of the unfill, and I didn't want to try to force the plug back up.

In a flash of (IMO) brilliance, I looked at my gym schedule sitting on my desk and realized that I was missing my yoga class.

Hmmm...yoga...mat work...

Downward-facing dog? Let's give it a shot!

So I did the downward-facing dog move...and lo! The plug of black Beans just effortlessly cascaded back up (or down, as it were)! No retching, no stressing the band!

I just can't believe I hadn't thought of this before! Okay...which one of you was holding out on me about this! :)

Yoda: See, at first? I was like "Maybe I should do a handstand!" Then I remembered that I'm *245 lbs* and that wouldn't work so much. Then the yoga popped into myhead and...well...the rest is history!

Paulax: LOL! I feel like TMI warnings are so unnecessary at this point. I mean, we all have bands around our stomachs! How do we avoid the gross stuff? :)

Okay,

Call me stupid, but I don't get my first fill until Tuesday and you all know how I've stressed how afraid I am of this slimming called stuff and pbing, so call me stupid but what in the hell is a backward looking dog or whatever. I may need to do this some time if I can get my big butt in a certain position.

For those -- like myself -- more afraid than nimble.....LOL......I have found that holding one arm straight up in the air so that one shoulder is higher than the other will often shift a minor "plug" without delay.

It doesn't work everytime, but I always try it and am often relieved instantly.

But it does look quite foolish in a resturant, so be extra careful to cut, cut, cut and chew, chew, chew out in public.

:-)

Hi:

I've found that while in a sitting position bend over and reach as far as you can forward. It helps something get unstuck.

Take care.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
