futureskinnypants 193 Posted March 9, 2012 After making the orientation appt, and the appt with the doc...i called and found out my insurance (sucky bcbs carefirst) wont cover bariatric surgery. NO MATTER WHAT. So i started looking into my options. I found Dr Morris washington in south carolina (i live in NJ) and i decided to go with him. He is 8000. And I got a loan through chase (chase medical advantage i think its called) for 7000 so i just have to come up with 1000 more. I have to stay there for 12 days. I get there on a sunday (my tentative date is september 9th yay i have a date!) mon and tues is for testing. Weds is SURGERY DAY! I stay that night and Thurs night, fri I get discharged. sat, sun , mon, tues, weds are the relax days (vacation ) and Thursday is the check up day and I can go home. 12 days is a lot. Yes. But my mom is going with me the first 6 days. We'll drive down (about 10 hours) then shes going to fly back home and my boyfriend will fly in for the next 6 days and we'll drive home thursday. I'll go back to work the next monday. Nice long well deserved vacation to start the rest of my life. The girls at Dr washingtons office have been wonderful. I've been in touch with Lauren everyday since I called. I've been calling for questions and now i have her email! My phone consultation with Dr Washington is on april 24th. If anyone has any questions about them let me know
