brandymarie81 108 Posted March 9, 2012 I attempted my first food intake since surgery...it did not...I repeat did not go well. I attempted to eat a few bites of potato soup..tummy started getting mad so I stopped...goodness is this what's its going to be like?
Time2Lose 16 Posted March 9, 2012 When was your surgery? Potato Soup might be too thick if you just had surgery. You should be on broths, warm clear drinks and Popsicles (sugar free).
RossJL 25 Posted March 9, 2012 How far out are you??
Liberated Sleeve 148 Posted March 9, 2012 No it shouldn't feel that way if your tummy is ready for the cream Soups. I think those are week 3 for me. Still on week 1.
doggz109 41 Posted March 9, 2012 If you are ready for food.....it does not feel like that. According to your profile you are what.....3-4 days out? I know every doc does it differently but I wasn't eating anything but Protein shakes and Clear liquids for almost 2 1/2 weeks. You need to back off for a bit. At least wait till a week out. Your stomach is extremely swollen still and going "wtf just happened to me".
brandymarie81 108 Posted March 9, 2012 Dr said full liguid diet...like I was on before surgery...but I'm going back to broth. That hurt.
Leederz 49 Posted March 9, 2012 Im on full liquids as well and I tried eating some cream Soups they did not agree with me either. I will try again next week. Everyone is different we probably just need to give our tummies a little more time to adjust before we feed them thick liquids. I'm trying new recipes with broth. Rootman 1,101 Posted March 9, 2012 The restriction is pretty sever at first but as months pass the stomach heals and the swelling goes down and you should be able to eat a healthy NORMAL portion eventually. I noticed at 6 months I was able to eat pretty well and at 10 months I could eat normally. Remember NORMAL and HEALTHY portions are a LOT less than what the typical person eats. 1 Liberated Sleeve reacted to this
