libra 13 Posted August 5, 2006 By the way, has anyone noticed that the sizes seem different now? I not talking about the size variations per manufactuer. 20 years ago, I wore a size 10-12 at 140 pounds. Maybe they are making them larger... You are so right!!! They did adjust the sizes. The clothing industry realized women are getting heavier and adjusted the sizes. They figured if a woman used to fit into a 12, they'd be more inclined to buy if their clothes remained the same size. Tricky little buggers!!!! :bandit
Jachut 487 Posted August 6, 2006 I'm shooting for about 148-154lb (67-70kg), I"m 5ft 10. This is based on the fact that despite always thinking I was "big boned" that actually isnt true, I was always just heavy. I know from being that weight in my 20's, that at that weight I have about 24% body fat. Sure I could maybe end up a few kilos heavier this time based on the fact that I now exercise a lot more and probably have heavier bones from being much heavier. But somewhere around the bottom of my ideal weight range is good for me.
Chickie 15 Posted August 6, 2006 I shot for 65kg / 143 lbs. I have started to maintain at 63.5 kg / 139lbs (meaning the scale hasn't moved in a while) That weight, at my height is a comfy Aussie 10 (a US 8, from my understanding) While I may be considered "chubby" to some at 5"5 and 139lbs, it is a hell of a lot better than Super Morbidly Obese. My main aim was to be healthy. Not skinny.
MelodyJ 0 Posted August 6, 2006 I am 5'10" and the goal charts say 105lbs for 5ft tall and 5lbs for females for each inch over 5ft. So having said all that I believe I should be 155lbs + 10% so 155-170 is my ideal. I like many would be ecstatic in onderland... but I am shooting for 165-175. I have never been thin even at birth!! As I lose I am SO HAPPY to know that "this time" it's for good!!! GOd Bless, MElody Banded 3/20/06 -73lbs :scared:
anillacookie 0 Posted August 6, 2006 You know that is a great ?:scared: WW says I should weigh in at 115-139 Hello for me I would look like Miss Anorexia. my Dr said he wanted me at 180. I think I will just know when I arrive at the magic number.

jojo41 0 Posted August 7, 2006 I LOVE clothes shopping in the USA. In Australia I am a size 20 yet in the US I am a size 16-18. I have noticed clothes in the US are MUCH more generous than here and in Europe.
maryb 1 Posted August 7, 2006 My Doc says for me 5'4" and age 45 my bmi to be in the proper range is 140 to 130. Personally I would be happy with just 150, but my PCP and Surgeon both said 140 to 130. So, I am going for 130.

Scott F 0 Posted August 7, 2006 I got down to 165 # on phen/fen eight years ago and would love to get back to that weight. But I'd be pretty happy at 180-190 also.
JJinLA 0 Posted August 7, 2006 I am 5'2" and small boned at that. I think i should probably weigh 110 or 115, but i would be sooooo happy to be 140. I think it all depends on where you as a person feel comfortable. Some people can be totally confident & satisfied in a 14, some have to be smaller. I would love to see a 12 again lol. I better get to my goal before I go to Australia!!! My girlfriends and I are saving up to visit friends in Sydney and the Gold Coast.

niche 0 Posted August 8, 2006 i am shooting for 150. at that weight i should be sie 6 or 8 american. i was about 155 10 years ago and loved every minute of it. (it was just minutes, mind you)
lianna 3 Posted August 8, 2006 I am 5' 4" and 145lbs would have my BMI at 24.9. So I chose that for a goal simply because it puts me (barely) in the "normal" BMI range. I think anything under 150 was my original goal. And anything under 150 will make me happy. However, I weighed 125-130 all through high school and through most of my 20s, so once I reach 145 I may want to lose a little more. I think we all see our goals as somewhat flexible. I am pretty happy with where I am at now, lol... I feel like everything from here on down will just get better and better!
