Sorry to chime in so late but do the have an antipasto.salad? It's usually loaded with Protein & little to no carbs. Just a thought.

Or maybe a different restaurant??

Thanks everyone. It is more his way to Celebrate then mine. My celebration is the 5k itself :)

He works far from home and I only see him 1.5 weeks a month, and where he works they have no restaurants. He also was raised italian, so I am humouring him and let him think its about me, but I can tell he really wants to eat italian and its the only one near our hotel. This will only be like my 3rd time eating out altogether since surgery, and as it is clearly not a habit, I am willing to eat somewhere that does not necessarily have the best choices, so he can enjoy it. The chicken parmigiana is definitely the best option. I looked at everything and calculated the Protein to calorie percentage and it was the highest, it also comes with Pasta which I won't be touching so overall in the end its not going to be too unhealthy, and will have pretty high Protein.< /p>

I thank you all for your advice! This forum has always been so helpful.

And thanks for the congratulations. I will probably post to let you all know how it goes :)

You are so sweet. My husband works away from home too, but we get most weekends. It's tough, but it makes it that much more special when we do see each other.

Isn't it funny how chicken is so tough on my sleeves. I can only eat a bit of it, but can eat larger amounts of most anything else. Dunk it fairly well and eat the cheese. I was thinking that you might be able to get them to give you an unbreaded chicken breast. It's worth a try. If they use frozen breaded ones then you are SOL. Breading is not too bad though. We eat so little that it really doesn't matter too much.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
