Hi Everyone, I am in Lake Forest, but getting sleeved at Scripts Green in San Diego. I've done all my pre-op in Del Mar and love doc and staff:) anxiously waiting for insurance approval. Starting working out 4 weeks ago, hoping my body will handle the surgery better. Also because I am scared out of my mind.

I'm in RSM! Why San Diego? Did you hear of Dr. LePort in Fountain Valley? I heard good things, and they have group aftercare every Monday night for life...

Hi caligirl3 I am literally right next door;). We moved to Lake Forest a month ago, before that I lived in Oceanside. When I started this journey last November I had no clue we would move. I am super silly superstitious and I "feel" Dr. Fuller is the right doc(don't worry I looked him up too) It would be great to have follow up group near by. I am going to try to find one near by. Where are you in the process? Do you have a date? R u scared or nervous?

I know!!! Well, today is my info session and NUT appt, then Friday is my Dr appt. then all I'll need (I think) is my psych eval and to attend one group support session. My ins hopefully will get the letter at the end of oct and I'm praying for a nov or dec date! Yeah, we could totally support each other. I'm nervous but mainly excited. I'm a single mom of two and my weight is holding me back in life. Done sitting on the sidelines. My ex ran off with his mistress and lives with her and I've put on te pounds. Feeli sorry for myself for 4 years. I'm going to change all that!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
