Its now been over 5 weeks of no loss on the scale. I have been exercising a lot and my calorie intake hasn't changed. I've been averaging about 1000-1200 a day. I have lost some in inches due to the added exercise, but it sure feels like the scale has been stalled a long time. I'm very close to what I think would be a good final goal weight for me. I'm 145 and would like to lose another 10 lbs. but can't seem to get this last little bit off. My wedding is April 29th and so I have a big incentive to get these last few pounds off.

My question to the long timers is... How do you know if you're in a stall or if your body is just done losing and has decided this is where it's going to stay? Did your body just level off and that was it?

What is your height? I would say if you are still losing inches you are still losing!

I thought I was done at 150, weight had been coming off very slowly in October and November, but I dropped another 12 lbs between Nov 17 and Feb 1. I have been holding steady at 138 for about six weeks now so I think I might be done now at 14 months post-op. However, if I needed to lose more, I feel confident that sticking to my losing plan would take more off.

I'm 5'7" - I'm thrilled with the fact that things are more toned but I'm not quite where I want to be for the wedding in two months. I could use that last 10 lbs. gone.

Have you considered bumping up your calories? It would give your body a jump and maybe get you moving on the scale again!

That's a good point and I actually have worked hard to get closer to the 1200 mark because of the added exercise. I still have a lot of restriction and have struggled from the beginning to get enough calories in.

This is encouraging to read! When you say "losing plan", are you referring to anything other than the standard: high Protein, low carbs, exercise, Water, etc.?

Maybe bump the calories just a bit and cut your carbs back (depending on what you are doing for carbs right now)? Also, if you are exercising, maybe consider changing up what you are doing to jumpstart your metabolism.

I don't have any advice to offer but I'm so excited for you that you've gotten down as low as 140 at 5'7"! I'm about the same and I can't even imagine weighing 140! Good luck to you to get to where you want for your wedding though!

As far as getting in more calories, nuts are the best for that. Good for you and high cal.

Glad to hear you suggest this because I've been nibbling on some pecan nuts we got on my birthday weekend.

I've been doing a lot of hiking (5 mile trail 2x/wk - and a 3 mile walk 2x/wk - with long hikes thrown in: We're doing another 11 mile hike this weekend.). That's good cardio, but maybe I need to do some weight/resistance training?

Thank you! But, I'm not 140 yet. I'm 145 and would ultimately like to be about 135 for the wedding. So close. :)

SO, what I'm gathering from you all is that you don't think that the body just stops when it gets to a certain point. It's a matter of my needing to make some changes and try additional things to try and shake things up. Change my diet and exercise routine...

You're down to your core fat which is MUCH harder to work off. I'd take that calorie intake down perhaps to 800 a day for a week and see what happens. Also remember Water is the key...and little/no carbs

Also remember Water is the key...

I've really tried to keep my calories up around 1000-1200 because of the added exercise I'm doing now and I want to keep my metabolism up. I know that my Water intake has never been what it should be. That's definitely an area I know I could improve.

I guess I'm just frustrated with 5 weeks of no movement towards my final goal when it seems like I'm trying to make such good eating and exercise choices. It feels like my body is done losing. Foxbins post was encouraging - I'll keep trying, in hopes that this is just a stall. Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
