sabrina140 33 Posted March 7, 2012 Hi J! Congrats on your surgery... I know exactly how you feel. I was so sick from the anesthesia and narcotics after my surgery (02/20/12) that I could not hold down an ice chip. I threw up EVERY time I sipped Water. I ended up staying in the hospital for 3 days until I could hold down water for a day. Went home on day 4... I remember sitting in the hospital bed thinking "WTF did I just do?"... and to top it off I had a terrible cough.... it does get better though! Try using a pillow to brace against your tummy when you need to vomit or cough, it helps tremendously! Little sips of water, walk walk walk... and it DOES sloooooowly get better
Swimmer 199 Posted March 7, 2012 Pretty normal though I know that doesn't help right now. Get some rest and hope you heal quickly.
Dooter 1,457 Posted March 7, 2012 I yall, I was sleeved yesterday and im VERY sore! And tired and nausiated. Did anyone else feel this way? I also threw up once and im scared i ruptured my stomach because of it :-( I threw up 4 times in the first 24 hours and it freaked me out! I caught my surgeon in the hallway and he assured me I did not rupture anything. Once I was able to have liquids (after the leak test) I finally stopped. Still was nauseated though. They gave me anti nausea meds in my i.v. which helped.

Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted March 7, 2012 I am so lucky I never had any nausea, maybe it's because I kept hitting the MORPHINE button! LOL
LilMissDiva Irene 3,282 Posted March 7, 2012 Congrats on your new tiny tummy!! Don't worry, feeling nausea and/or vomiting post op is really quite normal. I did both and though it wasn't fun, it did pass. Today, I'm a whole new person!! Can't say enough about it. Get your rest and do your best to sip tiny and get up and walk whenever you can. ProudGrammy 8,322 Posted March 7, 2012 hi jwelk by the time you read this, i hope you are feeling some what better. every minute counts so maybe you are a little better. This is quite normal, being tired especially, nautious all that pleasurable stuff that goes with surgery. But really, this was will be worth it. from the wise word of pasmilton "a storm doesn't last forever!" Your poor stomach has been invaded, attacked Tummy is probably saying, "hey, what did i ever do to you?" You should reply with, "hey you have given me hell all these past umpteen years, and i want you gone, gone, and gone - don't come back ever!!" So Mr. Tummy is rebelling, taking his hurt feeling of pain out on you - don't let him win! This too shall pass as they say. you will feel better day by day, i promise best kathy
