This nasty, sickly sweet yellow liquid. Hydrocodone. I didn't even use a fourth of what they gave me. Money down the toilet!

Since you are in the Mexico forum, I assume you mean in Mexico. I have no idea what was in my IV while I was in the hospital (and had no pain!) but I came home with sublingual Supradol (toradol) that I used the first night home to help me sleep. After that I didn't need it.

I literally got crap! Aleve! Really???? Given the type of surgery, I think I should have had something a bit stronger. You need to INSIST you get a good backup pain medication to bring home.

THe hospital sent me home with liquid Loratab. That's after I told both the surgeon and hospital staff that Vicodin acts as a stimulant with me. Loratab is liquid Vicodin. I had to have some be I got a really bad HA and i freaked out. So I took some and was up for 3 nights and days. Go figure. I went ant had Kaiser change the meds to Tylenol with Cod. That worked really well. ;)

Yup. Liquid vicodin. It worked really well for me, as I had a hernia repair which gave me a lot of pain for two solid weeks. I used 2 whole bottles. Actually I have about a dose or two left in the bottle. I was not shy about taking it when I could. There's a reason they give you a refill. Everyone reacts differently though.

THAT is laaaame!!! I can't believe that!! Aleve is actually on a list of meds I'm never to take again (along with ibuprofen and the like..), because it can cause ulcers. :s

Oh ok. That shouldn't be a problem. I just haven't heard anyone say yet. I was wondering about my suitcase. I'm going to just check my bag.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
