Newfoundlove 95 Posted April 10, 2012 My doctor has us on a high Protein, low carb diet. I don't have to drink Protein Shakes, just high protein foods and keeping carbs to 40 grams per day. They gave me a two week menu to follow and it's actually pretty decent and easy to follow.
suzcomptime 17 Posted April 10, 2012 Two weeks of Protein Shakes and liquids. 1 day of Clear Liquids, nothing after midnight day of surgery. sugar free Jello and popsicles are OK for the two week period. I plan on blending my Protein shakes with ice to eat with a spoon instead of drinking them for the times I feel I need to eat something.
wanttolose32 15 Posted April 10, 2012 I am on the 2nd week of my diet and it is kicking my butt. Sometimes I just want to quit, but I have a good support system so that is good.

Kelligirl 3 Posted April 15, 2012 Ok started my 1st day of my 2 week of liquids and I was not prepared. Went to the store and have everything now and will get started tomorrow. Gosh I could do a low carb for 2 weeks, but this is going to be a huge struggle for me. Need prayer please, thanks everyone!
Joni 94 Posted April 15, 2012 Hi Kelli - I'm on my 5th day. I agonized over it for a month before it was here. I'm not gonna lie, it's very hard, but I really thought it was going to be a whole lot worse than it actually is. I'm not hungry. and I thank God for that. I'll say a prayer for you. You can do this! When I diet I smoke, I am not a smoker, but I have smoked the last 2 days. Ugh, my surgery can't come soon enough. I'm glad to have a place to vent with no judgement and understanding. Thanks! To be realistic I really doubt all sleevers are non smokers or could quit smoking and start liquid pre-op diet at the same time. Many of smokers have surgery every day. I am not worried about 3 cigs to get me threw.
