Weight Watcher Smart Ones/lean Cuisines

Recommended Posts

Hey guys! What do you guys(and your nutritionist) think about eating smart ones and lean cuisines if in a bind? I dont see my nut until next week so I wanted your opinions. I bought a box of weight watchers ice cream. It has 10 g of sugar(which is alot i know) 90 cal,2g fat, 2g of Protein, 17g of carbs. I know this is alot for a "diet" ice cream but i think its better than eating the real stuff...once in awhile isnt bad lol

smart ones seem to have a lot of preservatives and a lot of salt - lean cuisines you can typically find lower sodium and they don't use any preservatives. There are also low fat/low carb options that are thorougly enjoyable - steak tips portabello is my favorite :)

Thanks for that info circa, I was just scouting out the smart ones at Walmart, as an in case of emergency food but didn't like the sodium or calories. I will check out lean cuisine next time.

I am afraid of too much sugar. I kind of like being afraid of the ice cream! I have bought the no sugar added Italian ice for a little treat.

Too many preservatives for this body. LOL Too much sugar also. ;)

I always thought the Smart Ones tasted terrible. The Lean Cuisine are heavy on carbs so I needed to add Protein to them, plus I can't eat a whole one at one time. I don't generally buy diet food. I eat ice cream at parties or a cup at Baskin-Robbins once every couple of months.

Love them but haven't eaten them for a long time. Either one is loaded with preservatives, and lots of sodium. Although it probably wouldn't hurt to keep one or two in the freezer for and emergency quick meal if necessary!

I have never had one of them before, but you mentioned ice-cream and I have found a pretty good one. Blue Bell has a no sugar added ice-cream on a stick that is low cal and has only 2 net carbs. It is listed as a low glacemic index food. My kids tear them up. I have had one twice and I did not distinguish it from a regular one.

I eat the weight watchers sometimes, well I usually eat the meat and a bite or two of veggies then I'm full. I keep then in the freezer because sometimes I am disorganized in the morning snc need to grab a quick lunch for work.

On the ice cream I bought a box of weight watchers mini ice cream sandwiches, they were less than a hundred calories and saved me during PMS when I needed a fix. I wouldn't recommend keeping them in your freezer all the time though.

I haven't had them since my surgery but I know when I used to diet before surgery I ate them a lot. I really liked them but eventually I had to give them up because they were causing me to stall in my weight loss. They are high in sodium which u can offset by drinking more fluids but what usually got me was the carbs. There were just too many carbs for my body. Everyone is different though and you may find that they work out good for you. Once or twice a week would prolly be ideal I would think.

There is a really good Lean Cusine that I love that's chicken with cream spinach. It's pretty low in calories and fat and carbs. I bought a bunch when I found them because who knows if I'll be able to find it again.

If I buy those things, I usually just throw away whatever carbs are in them. Healthy Choice is the lowest in sodium.

Lean Cuisine has a low carb/lower sodium line that aren't too bad.

Crap food. You have been given a second chance. Take advantage of it. Prepare food in advance and freeze it......instant healthy frozen dinners.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
