8 Months Out...i've Altered My Stomach, Now How To Alter My Mind?

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery on July 1 of last year. I have seen amazing results. In fact, I've lost like 85 pounds, but I am still 20-25 pounds away from my goal and I haven't seen the scale move since Christmas. Admittedly, I don't eat great. I mean, I don't eat much (because I simply can't) but I do indulge sometimes. I am a college student and I find it REALLY REALLY hard to avoid social situations where food is involved. Also, I am struggling with getting adequate exercise in. I walk to and from school and I am taking a Polynesian dance class and I sometimes trick myself into thinking this is enough exercise. It is not, though.

I am afraid I have not changed my mind and I have only changed my stomach. I get full a lot faster, but I still crave bad stuff. Any advice?

I want to emphasize that I am SO happy with my results, but I want to get to my goal.

Time for a reboot! Get back to basics. Look of LilMissDiva's Basic Bootcamp under food and nutrition. It will help you refocus to healthier eating to get the sugar out of your system.

You are having a lot of head hunger that your fighting. Can you see a College Therapist? He/she could help you challenge your head hunger and give you postive coping skills so you can recognize and stop giving into the head hunger.

The last 20 lbs will be the hardest to loose so it would benefit you to seek out a Therapist. ;)

I find that the hardest part is the constant social situations that put tempting food before us. I do fine as long as I am at home, I only bring in stuff that I can have except for a few things my family might want occasionally. But when out and about, besides the fact that there is much more available in the ways of tempting food, other people are constantly offering (carb pushers!!) stuff like breads, Desserts, potatoes, etc. These things are so much a part of their lives, that we are literally surrounded by it. For the most part I can resist, and have no problems. But due to the simple fact of getting bored, sometimes these foods sound so appetizing. So its a constant struggle to stay on the right path. I imagine it's worse for you than myself, due to being in college and having even more of a social life.

You are doing so well with your weight loss, let it continue to inspire you to make good choices. And if you make a not so great choice, then maybe only a taste of a bite or two will be enough to let you resist a bigger portion.

Good luck and congrats on your amazing success!!

:)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
