VJSlim 156 Posted March 7, 2012 I track my food on Fitday. Today I will consume: 742 calories, 33 grams of fat, 34 grams of carbs and 75.6 grams of Protein. Everything is about where I like it. I like my calories between 650 and 700, but I had a Protein shake this morning and with the 2% milk it's about 150 calories. I do not go non-fat, only lowfat with milk, cottage cheese and yogurt. My cheeses are full fat. Like Chris, I eat what I want of healthy fats which include dairy. eggs, lean meats, avocado, nuts, seeds and olive oil. We have same surgery dates!! Congrats on the awesome weight loss! (kinda jealous you lost more LOL) Thanks for letting me know of your daily intake. It sure helps a lot to understand what I should be doing. GonnaLoseIt 33 Posted March 7, 2012 Hello, I do not keep track off my fats, but I am conscious of them while I am losing weight. Once I get a bit closer to goal I will go back to full fat but right now I actually do low fat for the short term, I find it to not be as heavy on my sleeve. Tried full fat and I feel like it just sits on my stomach. Weird I know but for the short term (3-6 months) of low fat wont affect me to much.
Indymom 132 Posted March 7, 2012 I just posted something similar on another thread. At almost 7 months out I try to keep my fat and carbs below 50, my calories between 800-1000, and my Protein between 65-75. Today: 892 cals/72 carbs/37 fat/70 Protein Great day for me, and I had lots of things I enjoy (crackers, french salad dressing, small serving of baked potato w/ butter & light sour cream, cabot reduced-fat cheddar cheese, etc.). I don't worry too much about my carbs because they don't seem to be impacting my weight loss, but generally there's just not much room for carbs after my protein & veggies - so it naturally stays pretty low. fluffylibra30 323 Posted March 7, 2012 Wow now I'm really worried I'm not getting enough calories. I am 2 months and 1 week out and I'm not getting quite 600. I usually get my 60 grams of Protein, with cheese meat and muscle milk I make myself do atleast 50 if I have to eat PB late at night and I struggle with Water, I drink watered down sunny d to help, I only allow myself 8 oz of SD which is 60 calories. I just don't want to eat. Never ever thought I would say that. I used to laugh when people would say they "forgot" to eat yeSh right who does that?! Now it's noon before my brain even registers hey you need food dummy. I sometimes wish I could get a little hungry!
Catracks 865 Posted March 7, 2012 Around 600 calories is fine if you are losing. I think the ideal is between 600-800 calories for weight loss and 1000-1300 for maintenance. Everyone is different though. You have to find what works for you.
