I just cant seem to fight my addiction to food. I eat CONSTANTLY. Sure, I cant eat very much at one time, but as soon as I have some breathing room, I go at it again. It's ridiculous. I knew this would be a problem, but I thought I would be able to over-come it. So far....thats not the case.

I get so down and depressed and full of self hate for putting myself through so much to only EFFF it up by eating like a cow again. I still have 40lbs to lose, and I am just over 1 year out, I dont see this happening for me anytime soon if at all.

I dont know what to do except vent on here.

I've found myself falling into this trap when I'm at home and bored, or around lots of yummy foods. So, I only keep healthy Snacks in the house, I try my best to stay busy or entertained.

There are always yummy junky things at my mum's house, which I find myself grabbing for every 10 to 15 minutes. In those situations, I put the food onto a higher shelf that requires a stepping stool. That way, getting to the food takes effort, and I usually give up.

I agree with Puja, I do this when I'm bored and alone. This is one reason I try to keep myself busy with friends. Now that I have a friend who is being sleeved on the 20th and another one being banded next month, I don't have to feel awkward when we hang out.

How I empathize with you all. . . I am the exact same way. There was a question earlier somewhere on this forum, in which the person asked for questions to ask at her informational seminar. . . I guess one of those should be how to deal with the horrible head hunger. I too suffer from this monster, but I guess the best thing we can do is just fight it. . . it's so hard, when i give into it, however, I make sure that it's only a little of whatever I'm craving. . . most times my cravings are meat, so it's Protein with no carbs (thank goodness). . . but i so understand head hunger, I too would love to lose about 30 more lbs, but don't see that anytime soon either. . . ugh. . good luck ladies! Together we will overcome (one day :) )

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
