NEW ME 2012 6 Posted March 6, 2012 Hey' date=' I couldn't resist, anyways does anyone still drink coffee? Just wondering ... my date is March 23, so should I drink my last coffee this month?[/quote'] I was a big coffee drinker and weaned off far before surgery for two reasons, the withdrawal headache and more important dehydration...you won't be gulping down anything and with Water intake being hard this first week, I am glad no coffee in the picture to make me step backwards. You can do it, it won't be forever and can give it up because you are worth it!
Foxbins 625 Posted March 6, 2012 I drank Decaf from day 21 when I was cleared for decaf coffee (the acid can upset your tummy) until about 6 weeks post-op and then switched back to regular.
sarah nelson 2 Posted March 6, 2012 Thanks, to both of you... good to know, so you were Decaf and then back to regular how many cups do you drink now?
Foxbins 625 Posted March 6, 2012 I have a 20 oz cup in the morning and occasionally I'll have a Starbucks grande iced in the afternoon--maybe one day a week. Having a hot drink in the morning sort of relaxes my sleeve for the day.
Shells 40 Posted March 6, 2012 I work at sbux (5 years now) and used to be addicted to coffee. 3 years ago I experienced a Migraine followed by vomiting (during a test mind you). Yeah I quit after that. Took 2 weeks, my brain was aching! Was too young to drink it anyways so went to half caff, Decaf, then cut it off completely. I would drink decaf or half caff for now then after surgery please don't drink coffee, it definately dehydrates you and with your tiny tummy you need all the fluids possible. I love herbal tea with soy milk, its yummy, good luck
