upwardfocusedgirl 33 Posted March 5, 2012 Yay, good for you! It is exciting to be starting a new chapter in life. Although the 6 month diet requirement stinks I feel it gave me a lot of time to prepare. I only wish I had been smart like you and found this website before my surgery! Congrats to you on the beginning of your journey. I look forward to seeing your progress
kateywills 8 Posted August 14, 2012 Thank you. My insurance not only requires a 6 month diet, but it requires that I lose 10% of my body weight, and I'm really struggling with that. I will have to continue my monthly appts until I reach the goal. The scale doesn't seem to me moving at all!!
upwardfocusedgirl 33 Posted August 14, 2012 Just keep it up, I know it's hard and you will probably have 'cheat' days but you can do it! Protein Shakes really helped me during my pre-op diet. If you can do some type of cardio several times a week it will also help those pounds fall off. The pain is so worth the gain! Good luck!
kmoore 97 Posted August 15, 2012 Are they giving you any Phentermine to help with appetite control? That helped me in the beginning of my 6 months. Also, I did one Protein Shake a day, plus exercise 5 days a week. You can do it Congrats on the decision to improve your health! You will find that the 6 months will fly by. Take this time to try new recipes and see what you like. High Protein, low carb. Buy kitchen supplies you think you might want for post op. I bought a new blender and a toaster oven I found cute little spoons and forks, so I will learn to eat smaller bites. Also found popsicle forms so I can make those yummy protein-cicles from eggface's recipes without using a dixie cup. There is just so many neat things to get...and it gave me an excuse to shop!!!! (The BEST part...lol). 2 weight_no_longer and kateywills reacted to this
