Post your favorite motivational quote for all to see! I personally will be selecting my favorites, printing them out, and placing them in random places around my home/work so that when I least expect it, I've always got a little bit of inspiration.

Here's my favorite... It's old but I think it bears repeating

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.

Aristotle

People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily.

  • You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have

  • · Being happy doesn’t mean everything is perfect it means you’ve decided to see beyond the imperfections

  • Life is about falling, Living is about getting backup

  • Smile! Let everyone know that today you’re a lot stronger than you were yesterday

  • · Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind

  • · Everybody wants happiness nobody wants pain but you can’t have a rainbow without a little rainI have so many more but thought I share those for now :)

I have a beautiful picture hung on my wall: it shows a victorious man at the Himalayan peak waving a flag, with this quote on the flag. I saw this picture in a store some months back and was deeply impressed. It really does make you want to strive to unlock your hidden potential to be great! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
