My mom has been in town for almost a month, to help me out after surgery. My sister also came for the weekend. Don't get me wrong with what I am about to say. I am very happy and grateful that they are both here. Sad they are leaving tonight. Butttttttt since they have never been to LA on top of me getting newly sleeved on 2/8 and adjusting I have been taking them around town for almost a month. Restuarants and food galore. I must say I think I have done pretty well considering all the temptations. But I am writing this as my mom is eating an ice cream cone and my sister is eating Toll House Cookies and I am drinking Water. Can I say I am a little happy that when they leave the constant daily temptations will be limited somewhat. Sorry for venting

Venting is good. Sorry to hear you've been bombarded with temptations.

I think that was very conservative, in your reaction, lol. That was so sweet of them to tempt you like that lol.

Truly what wonderful family you do have for being there.

Congrats on being sleeved, I was sleeved 02/04, right behind you. Hang in there :).

I'm worried about temptations too. It sounds like you are doing great though because you know those are poor eating choices.

You did a great job avoiding temptation! The first few weeks, when my family sat around for dinner, I just had my mushies in my room - I didnt feel confident enough to be near my favorite food that soon past surgery. LOL

Honestly it's been sooo hard. From hamburgers to Thai food, Chinese food, Mexican, Seafood, Korean BBQ, Brazilian Steak House etc... The list goes on!! All month long!! I either come prepared with my food/shakes or eat some Soup or something I can have on the menu. But ordering for myself is ridiculous because it's wasteful since I can only eat a bite or two. I did cave in yesterday and had the Peanut Butter inside of a sugar free Reese cup but that wasn't even a spoonful of peanut butter.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
