Disneytikifan 21 Posted March 4, 2012 This is a wonderful site and I am glad that I found it. I have battled my weight since 5th grade. I lost weight and was in great shape in my twenty's. I ran five miles a day ate a very healthy diet and felt great. Then i started post graduate training and worked 60-80 hours a week day and night. Th running left and the weight came back with a vengeance. Now I am 43 years old and overweight. I lost weight 50-60 pounds last year when I was considering the gastric sleeve and tried weight loss one more time. The old habits crept back and the weight returned. I have decided to have surgery in april and have a date set. I used to go out for dinner with the guys I am friends with and one of the guys is a bariatric surgeon. I guess GOD had this planned for me for awhile now. I have a sick wife and I worry that I have to be healthy or risk my son being an orphan. I feel a bit anxious but am committed to my decision.I have a tentative date set for mid april.

ProudGrammy 8,322 Posted March 4, 2012 hey disney welcome aboard to the train of success WOO WWOO Glad your joining us - we all are great LOL As far as being overweight since the 5th grade, well i think we've all been there and back. Also lost weight only to gain it back, and just not able to keep it off. My DH and I always went out to dinner, whether it was my b'day or the 2nd day of the month starting w/a J - or my DH aunts cousin once removed, her friend - or of course the very important Ground Hogs Day. Whatever! By the way, we really are seriously saving alot of money. No kidding you will show to your son that eating wisely is the way to go, while i hope your DW starts to feel better. Although April sounds far away, it will be here before you know it. Keep reading this board to get a lot of good information for your upcoming VSG. Ask plenty of questions too. Good Luck Kathy
