ShannonH 34 Posted March 4, 2012 Well, I made it through surgery! I can't say it's been too easy...I'm in a pretty good deal of pain, but I haven't been walking quite as much as I should....it hurts. Every time I go to do my laps, I get the dry heaves, and boy does that hurt. Some of my new surgery buddies act as though they haven't had surgery at all, and are already out shopping...lucky them. I sure wish they used the really strong pain meds here, like they would in the US, and possibly more frequently. Does anyone have any advise to throw my way? I'm in need of a boost. SmilinGal 11 Posted March 4, 2012 I am sorry you are having a rough patch. Do you have a heating pad? That helped me immensely.
ShannonH 34 Posted March 4, 2012 The heating pad is the ONLY thing I forgot to pack :-(

mynewbegining2 31 Posted March 5, 2012 When you get home ask your Dr for some liquid pain medication. I took some with me, but I didnt need it. But since I have been home I take some just before bed. I have this one incision that just wont let up. And congrats on your surgery. 1 ShannonH reacted to this
ShannonH 34 Posted March 5, 2012 Every day is a little better. Surgery was March 2, and today is March 5th. I want shopping in Tijuana yesterday, and had fun. I'm still in pain, but not quite as bad. Water hurts the worst to drink....I don't know why, but it just does. I will def ask for liquid painkillers when I get home. I'm sitting at the airport right now, waiting on my flight. 2bsmallagain 156 Posted March 10, 2012 ShannonH I am glad your doing well and losing weight. So how was the shopping in Tijuana? Were you able to walk alot without being exhausted?
ShannonH 34 Posted March 10, 2012 Shopping was okay. It's just like any other tourist location, where all the merchants try and lure you into their shops. If you don't like the price, tell them it's too high and walk away. They'll come chasing after you to lower it lol. It's an experience, and you get bored in the recovery house, so I highly suggest going, even if you don't intend to shop. The driver will stay with you the entire time, so don't worry :-)
