Any Ideas For Replacing Bbq Sauce?

Recommended Posts

Unless you are going super-low carb, I don't see any reason why you couldn't use a little BBQ Sauce. I believe they make some lower-sugar versions as well.

I heard people put dry Hidden valley Ranch dressing mix into Greek yougurt. Although I cannot stomach Greek yogurt, but alot of people use it for different dips.< /p>

I just use reduced fat sour cream with my hidden valley ranch dip mix for my veggies. I realize I'm not getting as much Protein with the LF sour cream, but I like it better than greek yogurt.

Go ahead and use your BBQ Sauce, cant be using that much can you? I have all kinds of sauces ( I am a condiment queen) Take a look at the labels, I am sure some have less sugar than others.

What about a honey mustard sauce?! It may have less sugar than the BBQ Sauce. You can also make it yourself and control the honey... keep it less sweet. Just a thought.

If you like spicy food you could also dip in a little frank's red hot sauce and butter mixed together (not too much butter), I do this a lot with grilled chicken. A little ranch cools it down too. :)

I just found a light BBQ Sauce that has 3 grams of sugar instead of like 12.

Thanks everyone. I spent a good amount of time looking at the labels of every single BBQ Sauce and

found one low in carbs.

I also bought some honey mustard as well.

Thank you again

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
