Check with your local community or school district as they have classes on many different things that you might be interesting in learning. I know I have taken a photography class, I got into family ancestry research, and orgainzing my many, many, many photos that I have taken over the years. You might enjoy scrapbooking, knitting, crocheting, stained glass, or any number of things. I too have been out of work since last Nov so I know how long your days can get. I am now 2 months post op and I am starting to make up some creations in the kitchen that are high in Protein. Also I did puzzle books and there are many different types that you can do. Just think about something that you have always wanted to do but never had the time.

Oh and you also mentioned that you were feeling depressed. I had this problem before I had the surgery and I am so glad that there is good living through chemistry. You might considering visiting with your doctor and maybe they can give you something to get you through this time. When your life gets to where you feel like new again and it will you can always get off the meds if that is a choice you and your doctor make.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
