My Last Weekend As A Full-Stomached Woman

Recommended Posts

My surgery is this Wednesday, March 7th. I have to be honest, after a week and a half of OptiFamine, the urge to go out and have a full blown Last Supper is getting stronger by the minute. I just want to chew something, like a steak, but I'm having visions of going in to surgery and a steak falls out of my stomach and my doctor realizes that I cheated, thus making me a failure. Crazy, isn't it?

So I sit here drinking my overly sweet strawberry shake and crafting my mushie meal plans for two weeks from now. The mushies can't get here fast enough.

Ah, the ramblings of a hungry woman....

I plan on a "last supper" before my pre-op diet. I wish you all the luck in the world. I will be praying for you to be successful with your new tool, and for your surgeon to gave a steady hand! :)

This is also my last weekend as a full stomach woman and a permanent "fat chick"!

From the sounds of it you aren't allowed a small meal in the evenings. Bummer!! My pre-op fortunately allows that!

I am chewing gum as well for my chewing needs.

Good luck on Wednesday, I will be 2 days out and will be wishing you well!

God bless!

Drove by Chipotle...wanted to stop...didn't. How is it possible to feel in control yet out of control at the same time?

And thanks for all the well-wishes. They are very much appreciated :)

Next weekend is my last as a full stomach. I have only a 2 day liquid diet before surgery so I'm very lucky. I'm still stressing about the 3 weeks of liquid after! Good luck ladies!

next weekend is my last as well. My doctor only requires a three day liquid diet beforehand, but I bought some shakes today to try to start cutting back and getting used to eating so much less before the surgery.

I have to admit, this weekend is my "food funeral". I have been eating all my favorite things, just b/c I know I won't have any of them for some time. I haven't done anything extreme, but just am trying to enjoy guilt free meals. Not that eating is ever really guilt free for me.

Although I have only a 2 day required liquid diet, I am already doing some of it. Last week I eliminated Breakfast and had Protein Shake and liquids until lunch. This week I will eliminate breakfast and lunch, replace with liquids and then have a sensible dinner. I'm trying to prepare myself the best way I know how. I'm seeing my nutritionist again Wednesday and hope she isn't mad that I've put on a few lbs from the past few weeks of food funerals! I'm so ready for this to be done - it's like my brain had surgery so long ago yet my body is so far behind!

I'm not looking forward to the pre-op diet either. Sorry it's a struggle but it will be worth it. Just reminder yourself that you want a successful complication-free surgery. Hope the pre-op diet time flies by! Good luck!

Next weekend will be my last weekend. My surgery is Wednesday the 14th. I have to do a 10 day low sugar, low calorie preop diet. Breakfast was yogurt. lunch will be a Protein Shake. dinner will be 3oz fat free lunch meat and cottage cheese. I can have unlimited sugar free beverages, Jello, and popsicles, as well as unlimited dill pickles, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, and radishes. I'm not worried about getting through today, because I just nap. I'm worried about getting through work while feeling cranky and starving...

My sleeve is also on Wednesday at 10:30. I so nervous. Last week I felt Wednesday couldn't get here soon enough and now I am just filled with nerves. I'm pretty scared. I have been open about my surgery with the people I work with because I figure they will realize anyway. Some have told me good stories and some bad. I am really happy I am choosing the sleeve. I have heard many horror stories about the Lapband this week. Looking for friends that can share some advice or stories.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
