Melly 0 Posted March 3, 2012 how long did everyone have to wait until eating mushies? My dr. says two wks. Just wondering if anyone ate mushies earlier. Thanks!
Malyss 31 Posted March 3, 2012 My doctor says 2 weeks as well. I've been handling everything that I've tried quite well so far, so I'm looking forward to giving pureed food a whirl, but I'm trying to be patient. At least on my doctor's "full liquid" portion of the diet, I am permitted runny hot Cereal (I like Mother's Oat Bran) and nonfat cottage cheese. So, I sometimes feel as though I'm almost eating "real" food.
nicmack31 18 Posted March 3, 2012 Mine says no mushies until after 4 weeks
vampsy 29 Posted March 3, 2012 My Dr. also says 4 weeks. But to tell you the truth, Im ok with it. Sometimes the full liquids are too heavy for my sleeve right now. So on my one month anniversary I will Celebrate with some mashed potatoes
AliveAgain 283 Posted March 3, 2012 My doctor had me slowly introducing mushies during week three, but I really didn't get the hang of it until week four. Meaning: in the beginning it took me 45 minutes to eat a single poached egg, then two weeks later I can eat it in 20 minutes. I slipped in a few mushies during week two, but like one tablespoon a day of yogurt or cottage cheese.< /p>
RickM 1,752 Posted March 3, 2012 I was on mushies/puree/soft Proteins, as tolerated, from the hospital on out. Lots of variations in programs out there.
