I have been thinking hard about wigs to cover my Hair loss, but I have no clue what is good or bad. Synthetic vs human hair vs lace front, and so on. Any experts on wig here that can help me?

I don't know anything about wigs but, have you tried the hair "makeup"? It's a powder like eyeshadow but it helps darken your scalp so Hair loss isn't as noticeable.

I had purchased 5 wigs when I lost so much of my hair. The lace front seem to be the way to go because they give you a natural hairline. Spoke to friends who have worn wigs for a long time due to chemo etc, and they swore by the synthetic wigs because they are literally shake and go so that's what I bought. Once you purchase what you think you like, go to your hairdresser and have them trim it for you if need be.

I bought one because my scalp hair seemed to be thinning fast. My hairdresser gave it a cut to look more like my real hair. I haven't worn it yet, but she recommended lace front synthetic, too. It's pretty easy to put on and blends with my hair well.

I do want a Katy perry blue one, though. :)

What about human hair extensions! I LOVE MINE! I don't need to wear them anymore, but I got soooo use to them. They clip in and easy to put on. Most everyone on t.v. wears them and you don't even know it.

Where did you get those at, and if you do not mind.... about how much do they cost?

Sally's beauty supply-I'm on my 2nd purchase :)

I wash them before wearing the first time (and as needed) and air dry. I wear them curled not straight. I curl them with hot rollers and I'm good to go!

I just bought a top piece from wigs.com. It has 3 clips and so far everyone loves it and can't tell.

I had thinning hair for years prior to surgery and was sooo thin up top.

I feel so much better about myself and can actually wear my hair down.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
