I buy mine from GNC because they have pretty good sales and if I don't like something I have 30 days to return it- no matter whether it's opened or not. I like that.

Yep! I buy mine from GNC too. They let me return what I dont like so it makes spending $28 on a shake ok because I know I will use it or bring it right back and try another. I personal like their Gold Standard 100% Whey by ON. I like strawberry the best but I like the Cookies and cream too and I used the chocolate mixed with PB2 and Water instead of milk early out but I have to warn you with pb2 it is very gritty. They have a member card you can buy too. You save lots of money with it. I usually buy in bulk when they have a good sale and then they give me gold card discounts on top of that. Good luck to you.

I really like Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein that I buy at Walmart for about $15.00 a tub. I've tried the chocolate and the chocolate Peanut Butter and they are both good. One scoop gives you 26g of protein and only 130 calories. It fulfilled the requirements that my doctor gave me for my protein supplement.

At costco starting on Mar. 8 is an $8.00 off coupon on Muscle Milk powder (not sure if they have light). Also, the ready to drink stuff they have is decent. At Vitamin World they have a tropical mango flavor that is pretty good. 2 lb tub $33 or $34. They will mix you up some to try. The whey isolate is supposed to be superior to whey concentrate, so that's one thing I look for. Although I don't have surgery until March 12, I'm trying out lots of kinds. I start my Liquid Protein diet on Monday.

CVS has a really good one. Its the CVS brand, its in a foil looking bag and it comes in chocolate, vanilla and Cookies and cream. The chocolate tastes just like chocolate milk to me and if you mix the cookies and cream with SF instant cheesecake flavor pudding...its awesome!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
