So Tell The Truth . . .

Hi all,

Cscake: Thank you for sharing your story. It's so important for us to realize the risks and be vigilant about our health. I'm so glad that the boys are doing well and that you are too.

Back to the original topic: I do love looking in a mirror now and it's really been an important tool for me. When I look down at myself, I don't see the weight loss like I do when I look in a mirror.

Those three way mirrors at the clothing stores have given me a new perspective on my current dimensions. I look at me from all angles: sitting up straight and slumping, standing up straight and slumping, bending over, doing exercise and fashion poses, in heels and flats, in pants and dresses, even - gulp - neckid!

Sometimes I look in the mirror, pull up my extra tummy skin and dream what it might look like if it reabsorbs (I don't have enough to get a Tummy Tuck but my navel is a frownie face now!), Same thing with that droopy skin under my chin and besides my mouth (hey, I'm 55 - some sag is expected!). I bend over and observe my extra skin droop down then stand up and see it hide out. Just today I shook my arms and looked at that from all angles. End result: you will not see me shaking my arms in public any time soon!

I am constantly amazed that I am looking at myself in that mirror. It does feel SO GOOD!!

Lynda

cscake, I am so sorry about the loss of your daughter. So tragic and a good reminder for all of us to listen to our bodies and insist on getting the care we need. I am happy that you have a wonderful son-in-law to look after the children. :)

As for the mirror thing. The short answer is: yes. I steal glances at myself whenever I can. The long answer is that I did this for my health, but you just CANNOT argue that a huge benefit is looking better as we lose weight. I feel so much better after losing weight and I'm sure the way I feel is also reflected in the way I dress, the spring in my step and yes the reflection I see in the mirror.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
