chyna86 17 Posted March 1, 2012 I have been absolutely sold on the sleeve and have just given my employer of 2 years notice of my 2 weeks need for medical leave. My H.R. mgr even said "It should be no problem, its not like you plan on leaving us anytime soon." Well about an hour later I got a phone call from my dream job offering me an interview for their office in Manhattan. The job pays 15k more than what I make now. I forgot I even applied. I was advised there are 3 positions open and 3 people are coming in for the interview.......sounds like it might be in the bag. Not sure how to handle the situation if I do land the position. Is there any professional way to go on sick leave for 2 weeks and come back and quit? Does it sound unprofessional to ask for 4 week notice (2 sick + 2 for current job)? Advice please
Spatters3 315 Posted March 1, 2012 Depending on your profession, a 4 week notice is not unheard of.

When you give notice just say that you are leaving for health reasons and that is a professional answer to why you are leaving. Wait till you get the job before you leave or give notice being unemployed and looking for a new job is hard. Good Luck 1 Tenna38 reacted to this
