Ladies... where are you shopping these days? How would you describe the stores you shop at?

Now that I'm out of plus sized clothes I'm realizing that i know nothing about the many different places to shop at!

I hit the usual suspects like Old Navy, Target, JcPenny's... But I'm sure I'm missing some good resources for clothes.

So... where is everyone shopping and finding things? I'd love to get a list going.

I'm not sure how old you are, but once I do start buying clothes again I plan on shopping at H&M.

ETA: H&M has stuff for like twenty-somethings... Haven't really explored too much since I can't shop there so they may have more mature stuff as well ;-)

I agree with Bedhead. I love Target too but their sizes run small, I don't want that negative energy holding me down. I actually had to buy a pair a leggings there the other day and was a XXL. It's crazy because I wear a Large shirt and a size 12-14 pants, it made me depressed to buy anything in XXL so Blah on Target. I'm also excited to buy stuff from Pacific Sun and really any store in the mall. Also exciting is when I am somewhere like Deb's or Sear's or even Wal-Mart and I can buy clothes in Juniors and not in Misses. Hellz YAH!

I love Old Navy, sometimes Target and definitely JCP for Levis. Where I will shop more is Tilly, American Eagle and Abercrombie. Some of these store will maybe be a little young for me (I'm 46, but a young looking 46), but these are the styles I've always worn - no, not crop tops, but denim, khaki, cargo pants and cute tops yes!

One of the most horrible things about being fat is having to wear old lady clothes.

I'm also going to get some Uggs and a cute pair of white Vans.

NY&Co has great stuff for all ages, they carry talls, and they have great prices.... I also am looking forward to my triumphant return to H&M and Forever 21... LOL Also can't wait for Express, Limited, Wet Seal, Bebe, Betsy Johnson, and ModCloth!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
