bikerchick519 202 Posted February 29, 2012 Why are you so afraid to eat anything? Have you been throwing up? I was lucky with being able to eat just about anything. By day 37 I could eat almost whatever I wanted. 1 rahnava reacted to this
IowaAndy 95 Posted February 29, 2012 Did you not get a food plan from your doctor or the NUT when you had your surgery. If not I would be calling the NUT to meet with her and to get a diet plan that you should be following.

peacequeen 434 Posted February 29, 2012 Try eating just soft foods and slowly incorporate some TINY bites of chicken and chew it till it's complete mush in your mouth. Soft foods like mashed cauliflower, cream of wheat, oatmeal, eggs, tuna, soft fish,,like cod. Something I found about chicken is that even though it's more fattening,,the dark meat like on a leg is much easier to swallow. Try to get Protein in first, then veggies..you can mash just about any veggie and make it taste good..just lay off the starchy ones. Just stay on softer foods till you can talk to a nutritionist. You can find alot of diets online as well..just make sure they come from a reputable source.
readyforachange 51 Posted February 29, 2012 Try applesauce w Greek yogurt and cinnamon. Also, scrabble an egg w a T. of cottage cheese. Those are great ways to preceed meat. Also Soups.< /p>
Lissa 2,631 Posted February 29, 2012 By day 37, I too was allowed to be on soft regular food. I still adore rotisserie chicken. Something about the roasting process makes it easier to chew and swallow. If you're really worried, you can always puree it while you're working to transition to other solid foods. Sometimes canned meats are easier to handle on the soft food stages. Before you know it, you'll be eating regular food again, just in tiny amounts! 1 Neese reacted to this
Catracks 865 Posted February 29, 2012 i feel discomfort when i swallow solid food so i just spit it out You need to be getting nutrition down. Find soft foods you can eat. If it's just discomfort, work through it a little. Spitting food can turn into a habit/eating disorder. Try Soups. I liked bean & bacon. I also made some pureed soups that I still like to eat. hamanyq8 2 Posted March 1, 2012 Im a fan of habanero sauce which is so hot ! i love hot spices , do you think its ok to eat that after my surgery?
Catracks 865 Posted March 1, 2012 I was eating hot sauces from very early out. I think I'm 8 weeks now. I have always had an Iron stomach. Try a little and see how it goes. Some people become intolerant to some foods like eggs and milk and spicy food. It hasn't happened to me. 1 hamanyq8 reacted to this
