readyforachange 51 Posted February 29, 2012 I'm struggling to get in 50 grams of Protein a day. My doc wants me to take in 80 grams. I've read any thing from 60 to 100 grams on this board. What has your doctor told you? .....and is anyone as bad as me? My daughter got in 80-100 grams a day and still had her hair fall out!
Lissa 2,631 Posted February 29, 2012 I strive for 70 grams a day, per doctor's orders. I also take Biotin and B-12 daily. The biotin helps encourage hair regrowth and the B-12 helps with my energy level.
bikerchick519 202 Posted February 29, 2012 My doctor said 60 but I don't think it's enough. I try to get between 80-100 a day.

twoboysandagirl 109 Posted March 2, 2012 I always get 70 but it took me a while to get to that number...and my hair feel out too. I take B-Beautiful from GNC. It helps with regrowth but didnt stop it from falling out. Just try each day do the best you can each day and one day it wont be such a struggle.
Kristin 34 Posted March 2, 2012 My doctor told me between 60-80, but at least 60/day. I stay around 70. Three months out and I still try top do one shake a day. Do do some of you further out still rely on shakes?

MinMin 4 Posted March 2, 2012 I had surgery on 10/13/11 and can never get 80 gms of Protein if I don't drink a 20-30 gm Protein Shake in a day. I had a stall in losing and once I started the drinks I also started losing again :-)
lsereno 2,525 Posted March 2, 2012 I get in at least 65 a day and it was probably around 4-5 months out before I could do so without a shake or Protein supplement. I eat greek yogurt for Breakfast every day and that really helps. I still need a Protein Shake sometimes when I'm traveling. here's a typical day for me at 9.5 months: Wake up and have a soy latte (8-9 grams of Protein, depending on the soy milk I use) Breakfast: Cup of non-fat Fage plain greek yogurt, 1 slice whole wheat toast, 1/3 cup fruit (23 grams protein for the yogurt, 3-4 grams for the toast) lunch and Dinner: 3 oz. of solid protein and some vegetables. A little starch if I have room. (15-22 grams of protein depeding on whether I eat lunch meat, light cheese, chicken breast, shellfish, etc) Favorite protein snacks: light cheese, beef Jerky, light salami, soy milk in a latte or sweetened with sugar free Syrup.< /p> Lynda 1 MinMin reacted to this
Indymom 132 Posted March 4, 2012 I am supposed to get at least 75 grams/day. I get pretty darn close most days but I refuse to still do shakes or supplements. I do a lot of chicken, lowfat cheese, etc. to hit my targets.
