I was the same way.. I was allowed egg whites, so I made myself some scrabbled egg whites, ate two bites and that took care of that.

Oh, to answer the question! LOL Try the popsicles or even chewing ice. That may help the need to chew. :)

LOL! It's so funny to see all the newly 1 week post ops posting this topic. I posted the same topic at day 5! Man, the 1st month is the pits. It's true. It will be a far distant memory pretty soon though. It's only temporary. Popsicles were my saving grace. Doesn't help that I am cold ALL THE TIME, but when you need to chew, you need to chew. Try Jello too. Jello was on my clear liquid diet so I think you will be OK with SF jello. Good luck. It gets SOO Much better!

Lol! I just had this same conversation with my bff! I need to CHEW! I am 8 days post op and want to chew! I ate a popcicle earlier, that helped a bit... I just keep reminding myself of all the crazy diets I've tried in the past. Everyone says it gets better :) We got this!

Try egg drop Soup from Chinese resturant. I was craving the salt and something more like food and less sweet.

Yup! Egg drop soup was my saving grace! I pretended to "chew" the pieces of egg to death! :) made all the difference in the world cuz I was sick of sweet Jello (or anything sweet) by day 6. :)

My niece made sf Jello jigglers for me,,they are more dense so much chewier than regular jello and they are richer in flavor..yummy..I still crave them. Freeze fruit flavored drinks like Isopure, ,you get to chew and get some Protein in at the same time. I think it taste better frozen. I completed a week and 1/2 of liquids till I got a leak then on nothing..no food or drink just tpn for 2 1/2 weeks,,then back to square one when the leak healed..2 more weaks of liquids. And the sad part was while on tpn,,I gained back 13 pounds so I had to lose that same weight twice. Reason for long post,,is that if I can do it,,you sure can. Just hang in there..it'll be worth it real soon and you won't remember all this.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
