Any Oregon Sleevers?

When you have your one month followup they will give you a list of what you'll need. They are pretty specific on what you'll have to take. Pain was not bad and they were great about keeping up on the pain meds if you needed them.

I love Lisa....she is so inspirational. I have united health care and it took less than 5 days once they sent it in.

Yes she is great! I hope I get an approval fast. Once approved how far out was surgery?

They were about a month out. I was approved in December so they were looking at January but she was out for two weeks so we set a date in February. I ended up having to push it to March due to our house fire and here I am today. I would not have changed anything and so glad I did this. You will be too!

That is great!! Congratulations! What exercises do u do? A day for me is:

8-9 am wake up

9-10 eat Breakfast have to wait an hour before eating when I get up because of my meds I take.

1130 weight lifting (2 lbs weights) and walking 2 miles.

1230 eat Protein Bar or string cheese then take a shower n get ready for work

530-6 eat dinner which is a couple of the following fish, baked Beans, string cheese, blueberries, sandwich, speghetti wheat noodles, vanilla pudding made with 1% milk, Jello, or Soup. I usually do the fish with Beans with string cheese n blueberries. I love fruit.< /p>

8-9 pm Protein Bar or cup 1% milk with nesquik powder. Was told the nesquik is ok to have.

11-12 bed time

I need to learn other stuff I can eat. I struggle learning what is good and not good. I guess it will always b a learning process.:)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
