Melly 0 Posted February 28, 2012 Hello everyone, I had a scare this morning while in the shower getting ready for my 1st day at work since surgery. I started feeling really dizzy and almost fainted/blacked out! My face was ghost white and I was really really weak. I called my dr's office, but waiting for them to call me back. Has this happened to anyone and what I can do to prevent this??? I was soo scared.
topgun 63 Posted February 28, 2012 When was your surgery? Could be a deficiency of some sort (vitamin, mineral, electroyte, fluids)... don't take chances. Talk to your doc.
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted February 28, 2012 Could be Vitamin deficency like topgun suggested. Low Iron, etc. Are you laying down with your feet up now? It would be a great idea if your not already. Talking with your doc is an excellent suggestion. You will be okay.

Neese 75 Posted February 28, 2012 I had the exact same thing happen. I wasn't getting enough Water or Protein in. I felt sick to my stomach so i couldnt take in much, I ended up dehydrated in the hospital a few days later. Watch your intake and good luck (:
Pookeyism 1,143 Posted February 28, 2012 Are you on any meds? You may need to adjust them. I would probably call off working today - or driving, playing with sharp objects at the top of the stairs, etc.... 2 Doreykn and Dooter reacted to this
PreciousCargo 55 Posted February 28, 2012 This happens to me when I am dehydrated. I try to meet my Fluid intake every day.
mesaucedo 207 Posted February 28, 2012 This used to happen to me when I was hardcore dieting and working out. It was from dehydration and lack of calories. I would down a spoon of honey for sugar energy and then drink lots of Water or a shake. Hope this was your last time! Fainting can be scary.
BettyBoop 28 Posted February 29, 2012 Are you on any meds? You may need to adjust them. I would probably call off working today - or driving, playing with sharp objects at the top of the stairs, etc.... That is what I was wondering. Sometimes if you're on high blood pressure meds before surgery, you need to reduce or stop them afterwards....
circa 333 Posted February 29, 2012 drink your Protein Shake before you take your shower in the morning if at all possible.
Caradina 65 Posted February 29, 2012 Your sodium may be too low. When I was on a liquid diet before, this happened to me often, and it was that I was not consumig anough sodium. Drink some Pickle Juice.
