Is that normal to not be able to pee even though you have too. I was wheeled into srgery at 8:30 am and I haven't peed all day, I feel like I have go but when i get there. NADA I can't get anything out... I don't want a catheter so they gave me narcotics. Has anyone else had this experience?

Sounds like a urinary tract infection?

When you have surgery you go under general anesthesia. When that happens, your bowels and your bladder go to sleep. You probably don't know it, but they catheterized you at some point after your anesthesia.

It sounds like your bladder hasn't fully woken up. Just keep trying - you'll get there.

And welcome to the losers bench! :D

Yep, welcome to the loser's bench! I wouldn't worry about not being able to pee if you're still in the hospital. They will make sure you go before you go home! Lileee is right, it does take a bit for the bladder to wake up after surgery...and it will wake up with a vengeance, if it's anything like mine. With both my c-sections I literally hit that "I gotta go NOW" point about 24 hours after surgery. :)

Don't stress over anything right now. It will happen! :)

I agree with the others, you are in the hospital and they will manage that. They are definitely not going to release you unitl everything is functioning properly.

In the meantime, congrats on being an official sleever!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
