Excited For Seminar

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am getting to go to a seminar tomorrow about the surgery. This is the first step for the surgeons here. I can't wait!!!!! I'm very curious what they are going to say, and I pray, hope, and have all fingers/toes crossed that the process will go smoothly.

Hope to be seeing y'all around a lot over the next year or so, and hopefully, having had surgery sooner than later.

Congrats! Just go and listen to the orientation and follow the directives as much as possible. This has been a great experience for me and I would do it again in a heart beat! Best wishes. ;)

Hi there! The first step in my process was to attend the seminar as well. I started my process towards the and of October 2011 and I was sleeved on Jan 25th 2012. Good luck to you,the seminar was very informational for me. There were guests speakers that had WLS(none had the sleeve),a psychologist spoke,as well as the surgeon and his assistant doctors.

I think a seminar is a great first step towards WLS. Usually they are conducted by the surgeon and you can ask questions about the various types your surgeon performs. At mine, there was one couple that asked tons of questions that I had never thought to ask .VERY informative! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
