For seasoned Sleevers .... Is it really gonna take me several hours to eat a slider once I am completely healed.

When we talk about "sliders" here, we mean food that we can eat a lot of and not have restriction--chips, ice cream, Pasta, Cookies. The little hamburgers probably won't take hours!

I don't think there's any need to delete your account - you asked a question, it was answered. You've decided that you're not wanted here. I don't think its fair for you to make decisions for other people. I think if you stuck around, you'd get lots of good tips and advice, and maybe even be able to help others.

Yeah, that went from 0 to 100 in like a minute!

Bluebonnet - I don't have much difficulties with a slider burger. But that is about all I would be able to eat and I would be full. Breads are difficult for a lot of sleevers. Those little slider burgers have a little meat and more bread. Might be wise to stay away from those, or just eat the meat. :) Hope you are doing well! My surgery was with Dr. Kim as well. I love his office staff!! Take care!!

Holy moly!

The original response to the question was in no way rude or snarky. I reread it a few times to see if I could find another connotation and I couldn't.

You would be doing yourself a disservice to delete your account as everyone is very helpful with ANY question. Even some that are TMI and rarely are answers given that are judgemental.

Those sliders are very moist so I would assume they wouldn't go down too bad,but I probably would like just eat the meat part. There are alot of restaurants that sell burgers with all the stuff on them but without the bread. I am 5 weeks out and have not tried bread yet. My nut told me when I do start to eat bread,to toast it at first, that will help. Hope this was a lil helpful to you! ((HUGS))

Magnolia, Most of the regular posters here refer to the foods mentioned by Foxbins as sliders because they are things that don't fill us up. She answered the question she thought you asked. As a matter of fact, that was the question I thought you asked as well. If you're referring to a particular food (like the hamburger she mentioned), no, it won't take you several hours to eat one.

Of course, most of us realize that our hormones go NUTS after surgery from a combination of meds and the fat cells dumping hormones all over the place, so we know that sometimes things seem to be mean when they aren't. Please stick around and get the help and information you need here. Then you can pass it along to other new post-surgery patients later! :)

Wowwwwww, no need to become defensive. Everyone has asked questions now and then. Please don't delete your account. Please reread the posts because they are not in any way met to offend anyone. We are all people and we are unique. It's ok to agree to disagree. ;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
